'Loneliness is the human condition. Cultivate it. The way it tunnels into you allows your soul room to grow. Never expect to outgrow loneliness. Never hope to find people who will understand you, someone to fill that space. And intelligent, sensitive person is the exception, the very great exception. If you expect to find people who will understand you, you will grow murderous with disappointment. The best you'll ever do is to understand yourself, know what it is that you want, and not let the cattle stand in your way.'

Wearing sunglasses out in the winter...such an oxymoron.

i'll meet you there

Some of my spring wishlist...

Dresses from www.modcloth.com...the following items also from there...

The next items are from Forever 21.

Some pieces from Urban Outfitters (though just for inspiration. I don't think I'll have access to one this spring!)

The following pants from needsupply.com

And these Jeffrey Campbell pony booties from www.nastygal.com

So what do you think? I still have plenty more I'm looking for - pastels, creams, etc. I find its primarily 50's inspired, though not limited to that. My outfit today...the pictures turned out pretty terrible because I really didn't want to stand outside for more than 5 minutes in the awful -30 that we had today. My mom got me this belt for Christmas. I love it, of course, it's a bow!

sweater from the gap, blouse/shoes from joe, belt from christmas, skirt from costa blanca.

I constantly fantasize about how my house will one day look. I fell in love with Eva Menz's chandeliers. You will too. She seems to play off light (which believe it or not, some lamp/chandelier designs do not do) with her use of materials. I love the girly details she puts into them, and I love crystal. The first few I would probably opt for in my bedroom, and the crystal ones for the dining room or living area. Don't these make you want a place of your own?

odosketch # 1

do you ever have those days (particularly when you work an early, long shift) when you can't be bothered to do anything except doze in and out of sleep, eat, and possibly catch up on homework? well that was my day. I discovered this lovely site called odosketch, and fell in love instantly! i love the style and the possibilities, I definitely will be drawing on it often. This was my first go, very simple and I hope to get better at it.

Today I was bored, (I have nothing better to do right...no homework...heh heh i wish), so I decided to dress up. Tonight I'm going to [hopefully] see Avatar but I'm not going to wear this. I used to be fine with wearing knee socks out but now I'm too scared, especially in winter.
Also, who watched the season finale of Jersey Shore? I will miss those ed hardy outfits and of course fist pumping. :)

knee socks; urban behavior, dress; buckle, heart clutch; costa blanca.

I feel like the only song that is reminiscent of this outfit is She&Him - Change is hard. I first heard them a few summers ago on MTV, and I loved that performance...here it is.

I wear jeans sometimes.

jeans; so old I can't remember, shoes ; spring, blazer; handmedown from vicki, shirt; jacob.

The perks of being a wallflower is one of my all time favourite books.

Knowing up here, there comes a fork in the road, pants have gotta go, we're on an island on
The fourth of July, looks like the tide is going home.
In time I'd find a little way to your heart, down to the general store for nothing specific,
Gonna wash my bones in the Atlantic shore - only for you and me.
-Band of Horses: The General Specific
I made this dress in grade 11 fashion. The only concept I really had in mind was to have the back of the dress longer than the front, everything else I just wanted simple. I miss that class, through all the chaos and shouting for help from our teacher...it was real enjoyable.

you said it best

I made a post awhile ago about seeing the movie Whip It - and guess what? ...

The WRDL's Murder City Maidens will take on the Babes of Thunder from Thunder Bay, Ontario for 60 hardcore minutes of full contact women's flat track roller derby action.
That's right, Derby is returning to Winnipeg and I already got tickets, haha. I can't wait. I think derby is my true calling and I should have joined a team right from the get-go. :)

My outfit today is reminiscent of what I wore often in my grade 11/grade 12 years of high school - all black everything. I still like black, but can't wait to start collecting pastels.

jacket; sirens, necklaces; gifts, skirt; wet seal, top; dynamite.
