not a fan

I try to be pretty open about fashion. If something doesn't look good on it's own, it might look awesome on the right person with the right outfit. But I just don't understand some things. At first glance, I'm almost attracted by Jeffrey Campbell's Litas - as I enjoy stacked heels and platforms. But one visit to lookbook reminds me how monstrously huge most peoples feet look in them. I'm not even that psycho about maintaining bodily "proportions" but it's crazy  how these shoes can literally make one's feet look 3 sizes bigger than they are. I donno. Maybe one day I'll give the Litas more of a chance, but the first pair by Carin Wester...well, they are unforgivable. Not to mention stupidly expensive.
What do you guys think?
XO.

  1. At first the Litas seemed vaguely appealing, but then of course, they invaded the blogosphere like no other... in unflattering ways, no less! I sort of write off Jeffrey Campbell shoes for this reason - they're all over, and it's usually just the same style worked over and over until it's old.

But yes, those Carin Wester boots are ugly. At least they're on sale? Ha.

  4. To be honest, the first pair looks like a horse's foot and the Lita's make the wearer look like they own a pair of elephant feet. Not nice.

  5. Even though I'm a huge fan of Jeffrey Campbell, the fact that these Lita boots have INVADED the blogosphere to the point that they're a cliche is certainly mindblowing. Like, geez.

  6. The first ones look midly like a pigs trotter but unfortunately I do quite like the Litas. I know that they don't suit everyone (me included) but I like the idea of them. I have however, gone for a similar sort of look and got some Jessica Simpson Dany's. Hopefully these will look ok on me! xx

  7. I've never been attracted to this kind of enormously high shoes, but just like you, I think that my taste is not an oracle and try to be broad-minded. But whitch Jeffrey Campbell's Litas it's just that I've seen too much. Not on streets, obviously, but too many bloggers owns them and I've read just one comment saying "Oh God, how lovely they are, and if that's not enough they actually are comfortable!" above the range I can take it. Really.

Yup, that's all I had to say. Have a good day <3

  8. I think Litas are the most hideous, stupid shoe imaginable. And I'm pretty adventurous when it comes to shoes (especially heels and platforms).

i'm in two minds about litas, i think they're lovely at first but i agree with the proportions...

  11. i do't like those shoes. they look so uncomfortable and unnatural. sometimes i think some lookbook people just want to be "trendy" and get attention, even if it looks horrible. i could never imagine to walk through my small town with these shoes.
nice blog by the way :)

  15. I like the litas - but I won't buy them because they're so unoriginal now. It seems EVERY blogger has them - like the Uggs of the fashion blogosphere.

  16. We are of the same opinion. And yes, it seems like every blogger has them now. I don't like those shoes, and they look so heavy.

  18. I'm not a big fan of the Litas either (kind of don't understand the frenzy about them) and I don't think they look very flattering on most people. I think most people just go out and buy them because other people are. I ended up buying the JC Mariel suede wedges even though they aren't as popular but I enjoy them and they are versatile.

And the first pair is just hard on the eyes. can't believe it's so pricey.

  19. I think Litas are really ugly, not aesthetic at all and make your feet look unnormally huge which looks so unproportional in every outfit ive ever seen someone wearing. To me it seems as if people are only buying and wearing them to be more "fashion scene like". Some famous blogger hype them and its not about taste anymore but be fashionable (in the eyes of the ones who hype the shoes). Plus, when everyone wears them they arent special anymore in my opinion.
Of course I dont blame people who are wearing Litas, but i personally think they are ugly.

  20. I've seen a lot of people wearing litas lately but, to be honest, I think they look like clown's shoes, and I totally agree that they can make your feet look huuuge. So, no, I do not like them much at all, not to mention that I don't think they are worth the price they sell them for, - so on my shoe list, they are a no no.

  21. OMG, finally someone who shares my opinion about these horrible shoes! I don't understand how so many girls wear them these days, they do make your feet look 3 times bigger, not to mension it must be terrible for your back to wear these everyday! You see a lot of girls with very nice outfits, but I feel like more girls would relate to their outfits if they'd wear affordable, wearable shoes.

  22. I gotta agree on this one, they're ugly! A bit too "Lady Gaga-esque" for me lol :p

  23. Finally! I thought I was alone thiking that those shoes are not pretty, my feet are already big, why should I wear shoes like that? It's non sense, I think it's good not to be a fashion victim!
