Yesss, it’s finally done. Things still look a bit bare ( mostly the walls), but I’m content!
Welcome to my new room. I used a lot of used/thrifted items in my room – and like other thriftlovers, I enjoy thinking of new ways to use old items.
I painted the walls an off white colour from Sherwin Williams. It really brightens up the space and makes it look SO much bigger. Before, I wouldn’t really enjoy hanging out in my room at night because it was soo dark with the chocolate brown walls. Now I don’t mind at all.
I traded in my jewelry box for this simple wooden bowl from Chapters. It’s good for holding all my bracelets and hair stuff in. I use this little feather jar that I got from Byron Bay, Australia to hold my rings, as well as the swan above.
This tree jewelry stand is from Urban Barn for 25.00. I saw one on Urban Outfitters that I wanted but finally decided this one was fine and I didn’t have to pay shipping. I use it to hold my earrings and pins.
I quickly painted this today – I needed something for the wall. Of course orange and yellow had to be involved, since that’s my current mood. I could have spent more time on it, but it’s fine for now. It’s kinda pop art inspired. I also stitched thread onto it!
Next to my dresser is this lovely number from value village. It only cost me about 4 dollars! I always wanted a hat rack, and it’s great for holding purses too.
I decided to use two of my shadow boxes this time around. You’ll see these cute little retro squirrels all over my room, haha. Of course I had to display my seasons of Lost. The owl is from TYPO, my favourite store ever!
Directly below I put my cube seat thing, but covered it with this gorgeous scarf and various purses/nicknacks. I love the antler.
Perched on my cable box is this little paper crane! It’s plastic and lights up, from Modcloth.
Unfortunately, I don’t have a shelf to display my scarves on. For now they sit in these cubbies on my new little entertainment table. (Under my TV).
For some reason I never realized I could decorate the space on my windowsill. Now I have these cute vases from value village, a frame from typo, and a vase of feathers!
Above my bed is this cute little set up. I found the shelf from value village and my dad painted it for me! Thanks 🙂
Yes, that is a strange cat formation on the wall. Found that at value village too. Kitty statue is from a little boutique in Sydney (Newtown, I think the area was called) and the clock is from Modcloth. When I got it, the little gold metal ring was coming off. They refunded it for me. That’s what I call great customer service!
How could I leave these guys out? My childhood(and current) friend – Bunny. And his new companion Owl.
& Now for my super comfy bed! I’m obsessed with throws haha, so I have two – a soft woolen white one and a knit maroon one too.
Pillows. The petal pillow is from walmart, the deer one from Typo. I actually made the feather one myself. I got some white linen fabric, and ordered some fabric paint. I simply cut out squares, painted the feathers, then sewed together and stuffed it! Easy DIY.
I got a new ipod dock for my bedside table. I love it. I was so behind on technology, I tell ya. I also ordered this phone plugin for my iphone from ebay, haha! I removed my old phone from my room. And continuing with the theme, this adorable feather vase is a birthday gift.
I got rid of my cork-board creation that I had been using for hanging necklaces, trading it in for this vintage looking candle holder from Value Village. I think it worked out perfectly! Very…ornate?
And now for my favourite part of the room – cluttered or not! The great bookshelf of shoes and purses. And other stuff. I got the shelf from walmart for cheap.
Sitting on the top is the Harry Potter series, and two Owl bookends that I got from my sister for graduation.
Deer statue from value village!
Well that’s it! Hope you enjoyed seeing my new room, and are possibly inspired to redo your own with thrifted finds.
